We’re building a programme that is responsive to freelancers’ needs and makes connections with the creative industries that are creating rapid growth in the North East’s cultural sector. We’re helping to lead dance to the head of the region’s cultural strategy. We believe in the artists here because they’re world-class.
In 2024-25, we delivered 36.5 hours of professional development sessions in our pilot programme.
We’ve already created 4 events and 5 films and partnered with some of the North East’s largest institutions to help us deliver our pilot programme, including Dance City, Helix Arts, Newcastle College, Hypha Studios, Pelican Theatre and North East Screen. We’re building a new way for dance in the North East, through collective experience, sharing and the generosity the region is known for.
